As I write this blog My intention is to encourage someone to keep focused and don't be distracted as you journey to fulfill your divine assignment and by the grace of God you will get there, to that place of fulfilment.
'God is not a man that He should lie, nor the son of Man that He should repent, has He said it He will do it and Has He spoken it, He will make it good' Numbers23:19
God will never give you a dream that isn't greater than you. If your assignment is of God, then you need Him to accomplish it.
You can't walk with God without faith, scriptures says "for without faith, it is impossible to please the Lord"
It doesn't matter how you've started, it could be like little David attending to his father's sheep, a volunteer Shepard but in Him was a seed for kingship, his brothers looked more favourable to be kings because they were soldiers already, battle ready warriors but God taught and prepared David by Himself.
David declared in the Psalms that God taught his hands to war, that's amazing. If you allow God to teach you, He will first work on your Heart/mind, then He will impart upon you all you need to excel in your divine location.
God's route plan for you may not be practical or logical but it's biblical! Look at God's route plan for David the king of Isreal whom God says "He is a man after my heart" David-youngest of the sons of Jesse-Shepard-annointed by samuel-Volunteer soldier-killed Goliath-personal psalmist/musician to King Saul-covenant with Jonathan-Runs for His life from Saul-Captains debtors, homeless and rejected men in the desert and trains them to war-Saul dies-David becomes King.
It didn't take Saul this long to be King but because His heart wasn't prepared, Saul was disgraced.
Do you know that you can desire to be a king and not have the heart of a king?
Do you know you can desire to be a wife but not have the heart of a wife?
Do you know you can desire to be a father but don't have the heart of a father?
Today there are many Pastors that don't have the heart of a Pastor.
I Pray that God will prepare you, and that you will yield to his spirit as He trains you in Jesus name.
Do you know that we often go ahead of God's timing and get involved with all kinds of activities, even become prideful without knowing and disconnect from our divine location and source because of our ambitions?
The same Hebrew word SEKHEL that means mind is also translated as Heart.
Solomon said " guide your heart"mind" with all diligence for out of it Dwells the issues of life"
Everyday I am taught by God to understand the complexities of the mind of man.I think I might be in this school for a lifetime! God have mercy, Apostle Paul got it right when He said "Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind so that you can prove what is acceptable to God which is your reasonable service" Romans12:2
How much Progress you will make on your journey is a function of your mind, let the Holy Spirit work on your mind through the written and spoken Word of God.
Amen
ReplyDeleteso true!! amen to that! This is actually amazing for me as it answered a question I was asking Myself that i wondered how God works and not meaning "head knowledge" but knowing from the depth of my heart to an extend that worry becomes a thing of the past for me and Faith becomes second nature tome. so grateful thanks Pastor Ovie.
ReplyDeleteAmen! Pastor, staying focused is forever something most of us don't want to hear and in the process make our own lives difficult by diverting our destiny and walking outside of the purpose of God. This is a treasured message for me, it came in good time.
ReplyDeleteIn bidding my father a blessed fathers day this afternoon, he quoted for me Matthew 7:13-14 it reads ' enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction and many enter through it, but small is the gate and narrow is the road that leads to life and few find it'
God be Praised.
