1 John 3:12
We must not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and killed his brother. And why did he kill him? Because Cain had been doing what was evil, and his brother had been doing what was righteous.
We must not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and killed his brother. And why did he kill him? Because Cain had been doing what was evil, and his brother had been doing what was righteous.
God is love and we know that whoever does not walk in love is in darkness (1 John 2:11)
Whenever we walk in love we manifest the God in us.
When I read the scriptures and I see in the book of Acts, the manifested glory of God, the move of God was awesome in the early church but now we are just seeing little or no glory manifested, I began to ask the Holy Spirit why?
I want to see God’s glory manifested in my life, what about you? The Holy Spirit gave me one of the reasons why the church is not walking in the supernatural as we ought to is because we have allowed the spirit of Cain to take hold of our lives and the church.
Jude 1:11
"What sorrow awaits them! For they follow in the footsteps of Cain, who killed his brother. Like Balaam, they deceive people for money. And like Korah, they perish in their rebellion".
What is the spirit of Cain?
- The spirit of Cain is the spirit against pure brotherly love
- It is the spirit that breaks the covenant of brotherhood
- It is the spirit that says I can’t be my brother’s keeper
- It is the spirit that says I don’t care about my brother
Genesis 4:4,8
4.And Abel also brought an offering--fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering
8.Now Cain said to his brother Abel, "Let's go out to the field." While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him
Cain and Abel were brothers and God asked them for a sacrifice and God accepted Abel’s sacrifice because he gave it in faith by revelation, he gave the fattest and the firstlings of his flock but cain did whatever and God rejected his sacrifice and that was the beginning of Cain’s manifested hatred for his brother.
Manifestations of the spirit of Cain
- Cain was angry at God and angry at Abel
- Cain was into competition with Abel when they sacrificed and this was why he saw it as a defeat when God did not accept his offering
- Cain was full of pride and could not go to his younger brother to learn more about offering an acceptable sacrifice instead he kept quiet. We see this in church people just suddenly go cold towards each other, that devil is a liar!
- Cain was full of envy and jealousy against Abel
- Cain could not overlook or let go his bitterness
- Cain killed Abel and many at times we do not have to kill physically to be controlled by the spirit of Cain, when we assassinate the character of our brothers and speak evil against them, we kill them.
- This spirit always says “Am I my brother’s keeper? The meaning of this is that I am not concerned about my brother's welfare.
- Those possessed by this spirit do not care if anyone is hurting or in need in the church, they all for themselves alone.
The enemy is smart enough to make us believe we are living in a time when its not possible to practise brotherly love because the church is too large, some of us are too busy working and the world we live in is so fast paced that we only come to church once a week or once in a while.Compassion is the key to the miraculous and the supernatural and until we’re compassionate and tender hearted to one another we will not work in the supernatural. No matter how much faith you have, even if it can move mountains, it is nothing until love is in place because genuine faith works by love(Gal.5:6)
I expel the spirit of Cain from you in Jesus name! I command every root of bitterness uprooted by fire now in Jesus name! I command the grace to forgive, to let go and overlook to come upon you in Jesus name!I pray that the love of God will be rooted in you and you will share it with the brethren in Jesus name! You’re exempted from the curse of Cain in Jesus name!
