I am continuing from my previous blog. I started a series on spirits to pray against this year. These are dangerous spirits that are aimed at destroying and making a ridicule of the prophetic word and the spiritual exercise of the 21 days fasting. We must be watchful, sober and vigilant because our great enemy, satan and his kingdom are at war against your testimonies for this year but thank God for victory in Christ.
We must resist satan forcefully in the place of prayers and I know that your prophecy will not be delayed or denied, it will come to pass. Apostle Paul reminded Timothy in (1Tim.1:18) about waging a good warfare by the prophecies he had received and I am exhorting you to do the same and I know that you will be a living wonder to behold in Jesus name.
In part one, we dealt with the spirits of frustration, confusion, betrayal and the fourth which is the spirit of lying, I encourage you to read part 1.
5. Spirit of Anger
We know that anger has made a lot of people lose their reward, a great prophet , a mighty man of God whom God spoke to face to face, Moses did not enter the promised land because of anger.
What is anger?
- It is a strong feeling of annoyance or displeasure
- It is to be irritated, vexed or provoked
- Anger is a powerful emotion that people feel from time to time when someone or something frustrates or annoys them. One of the roots of anger is the Greek word ankhone for "a strangling," which is a perfect description of the way anger actually feels. Indeed, anger can make you feel like strangling someone.
When anger is not controlled it is strong feeling that makes you want to hurt someone or be unpleasant because of something unfair or unkind that has happened!
Uncontrolled anger leads to serious emotional outburst and reactions that can do so much damage to you and many!
- Have you ever done something in anger that you regretted?
I was always in this condition until I asked the Holy Spirit for help to deal with anger and I am still in this process. Do you know that Satan will deliberately make people provoke you? Be smart enough not to fall into his trap, do not let anger take charge over you because you will do things or say words that you might take a life time to correct.
Ephesians 4:26 “And don't sin by letting anger control you. Don't let the sun go down while you are still angry”
Simon and Levi got cursed because they could not control their anger, they killed the men of Shechem and Jacob released a curse upon them instead of a blessing (Genesis 49:5-7)
This is my counsel to you;
- Be slow to anger
James 1:19, Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.
- Be patient with people
Proverbs 16:32, Better to be patient than powerful; better to have self-control than to conquer a city.
- Show restraint, do not vent your anger
Proverbs 29:11, Fools vent their anger, but the wise quietly hold it back.
- Always think before you speak or do not do anything when you are angry
Proverbs 17:27, Whoever has knowledge controls his words, and a person who has understanding is even-tempered
- You are a man of wisdom when you overlook offenses
Proverbs 19:11, Sensible people control their temper; they earn respect by overlooking wrongs.
- Always ask the Holy Spirit to help you anytime you are angry
John 14:16, I will ask the Father to give you another Helper, to be with you always.
6. Quarrelsome Spirit
The quarrelsome spirit brings strife and contentions among brethren. It ruins our fellowship.
- This is an angry dispute or disagreement
- It is to have a misunderstanding and fall out with friends, family, loved ones and brethren
2 Timothy 2: 23-26, Have nothing to do with stupid, senseless controversies; you know that they breed quarrels. And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kindly to everyone, an apt teacher, forbearing, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant that they will repent and come to know the truth, and they may escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.
- We must avoid anything that will breed quarrels in our relationships this year and be kind and forbearing to everyone.
- Couples you know that same issue that brings arguments and misunderstanding, this year receive grace for marital peace in Jesus name!
7. Demon of Pride
What pride did to Lucifer is a great example for us all to learn from. Pride made him Satan.
Never you allow pride come upon you, it will inflate you and make you bigger than everyone, that is why you feel do they know who I am? I am very important and they can not do without me. These kind of thoughts changed a very beautiful angel called Lucifer which means the bearer of Light to Satan the ugly beast which means adversary.
Isaiah 14:12-13, "How you are fallen from heaven, O shining star, son of the morning! You have been thrown down to the earth, you who destroyed the nations of the world. For you said to yourself, 'I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God's stars. I will preside on the mountain of the gods far away in the north.
James 3: 6-7, Therefore it says,` God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.' Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Bishop Oyedepo said” If you are proud you will boast and when you boast, you will burst.”
Nebuchadnezzar boasted and busted when he was reduced to an animal, driven into the forest because of pride. (Daniel 4:33)
Note this, anytime you are proud, you change form!
- Pride will make you think unreasonably highly of yourself
- Pride will make you look down on people and despise many
- Pride will make you stiff necked and unteachable
- Pride will make you not to take and make corrections
- Pride has robbed many of their place in kingdom service, I remember when our church started about five years ago, the women had a rota for cleaning the church and some women said they are professionals, too sophisticated, so they can't clean the church but today many of them are nothing. I can tell you that those who cleaned the church got powerful testimonies and are ministers and great women of God in the ministry today.
- Pride will disgrace you like satan and Nebuchadnezzar, I have seen very great men and women, rich and mighty and I have seen that most of them are so humble!!!
- Pride will make a mark of disfavour on you! It is like having a tattoo on your forehead that says “DISFAVOUR”
- Pride is a destiny destroyer
Proverbs 16:18 “Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall”.
The proud cannot go up, they can only go down and that is not your portion in Jesus name!
8. Spirit of Lust and Perversion
We are living in a world where sex is over hyped and the devil is on top of his game leading many into hell.
- The spirit of perversion is an abnormal sexual behaviour that can be habitual.
- The spirit of lust is the spirit that makes people to have uncontrolled sexual appetites and desires.
1 John 2:16, For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
The kind of clothes that are designed these days are so unholy, many are so revealing, too tight and sending many to hell.
My father in the Lord said, “these clothes advertise the body instead of Christ “
1 Corinthians 6:18, Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body.
- I read recently about a couples seminar that a speaker told them to install poles in their bedroom, so that their wives can dance.
- Many Christians are hooked on pornography.
- Many believers have sex with demons incubus and succubus which pollutes them spiritually and physically.
We must pray against this spirit because just as we have sexually transmitted diseases, we also have sexually transmitted demons!
My counsel to you is to seek help if you are addicted to sex or pornography because it will destroy you. You need deliverance!!!
- I pray against every dangerous spirit that wants to hinder you this year in Jesus name!
- Whatever the enemy has used to attack you in the past is destroyed in Jesus name!
- I cover your mind, eyes, hands, feet and ears with the blood of Jesus!
- God keep you Holy and sanctified in Jesus name I prophesy
- Money cometh to you now in Jesus name!
