Ecclesiastes 9:11(NKJV)
I returned and saw under the sun that—The race is not to the swift, Nor the battle to the strong Nor bread to the wise, Nor riches to men of understanding, Nor favor to men of skill; But time and chance happen to them all.
We thank God for another week of prevailing through prayer, I know that God is doing great things in your life and you will see more in Jesus name! This year will be crowned with your mega testimony in Jesus name!!!
Some few months ago we did a teaching on sibling rivalries and I know many lives were imparted and you will never be the same again.
God did not intend Life to be a race with people to measure who will arrive first. We live in a time where people are plagued with competitive spirits. Even in the church, who prayed more, I must pray better than Sister A or Brother B, forgetting that the things of God is by grace not by human strength or ability.
Why will you see some else’s car and instead of rejoicing, you are thinking of getting that same car . The bible says that those that compare themselves with others are not wise (2 Corinthians 10:12).
I remember a sister, soon got married because she saw her friend was engaged to get married. The sister got married first but that marriage was an act of foolishness and it ended shamefully.
The race of life is a personal race and God did not put us on track to run against each other to see who will be first but to compliment, encourage and celebrate one another.
In this race,
- The swift is not the fastest
- The strong is not the winner
- The wise does not always have bread
- The men of understanding are not the richest
- The skilled are not the most favoured
In this race, everyone has got their time and chance, the word chance means opportunity.
Life is not a classroom where we all are competing for the highest score.
Seven Reasons why we must not compete
1. You don’t celebrate the successes of others because you always think it should have been me.
2. You will be constantly comparing yourself with others forgetting we are all different and have different purposes in life.
3. You will put yourself under unnecessary pressure.
4. Some people will end up depressed and never thank God for where they are today.
5. Many will go into debts and unnecessary financial pressure because they want to measure up with those they are competing with.
6. Competition will make you lose your focus in life; you will pursue someone else’s instead of fulfilling your divine purpose.
7. It is a waste of time which is a waste your life.
I declare over you that you will not be a victim of unholy competition in Jesus name!
I pray that you will focus on Jesus and not get distracted by any other person's achievement or work in Jesus name!
May the Lord increase you on every side and make your life as a reference point in Jesus name!!!
Thought for the week…... “If the sky is wide and big enough for the birds to fly, why do men like to collide instead of maintaining their tracks and space?”
